A New Year in Art!

So it is January 1st, and there is nothing like a fresh new year to get your creativity going! Looking back, 2018 was a very productive year for me. I created two eBooks, made a lot of art, sewed a quilt and sold another quilt, got into comics, made a doll, and dabbled and played all the way! Last year was all about doing all those projects I was pushing off for some day, and I checked all kinds of creative goals off my bucket list.

2019 is going to be a depth year for me! I’m going to try to read what is already on my bookshelf, take all the classes I never finished and take a deep dive into quilting and comics. Us artists have a way of floating from one creative hobby to the next and can sometimes lose direction and focus. This year I want to be committed to achieving a new level of mastery in drawing and sewing. I have materials to finish some more of my beloved quilts and my goal is to sell them on eBay. By the end of the year I want to be producing a daily comic which can eventually be compiled into a book.

I’ve made all my ebooks free in the shop and they will remain there for you to enjoy! If there is anything you have been wanting to learn from me; a skill or technique, feel free to let me know and I’ll create a series of posts for you. I have a really hard time teaching drawing because I don’t feel like an expert in it…yet! I’m also planning a series of posts about memory keeping because I’m really getting into it as a quick five minute practice each day.

I hope this new year brings you lots of fun and adventure with your creative practice! Tackle those project ideas that you keep putting off, or go deep and achieve a level of mastery in just one area. If last year sucked, have hope that every new day is truly a chance to begin again. Change happens over time but every moment you have a choice to respond to life with enthusiasm and bravery. Anytime is a good time to get creative! Dust off your paints, get out your markers and have a ball!
