Ok, I’ve purchased a couple of things from ThredUP. I was nervous about it at first, because a few years ago I had a really bad experience shopping there. This time around I avoided the purse department and just shopped clothes. I found a few things and enjoyed the shopping experience. ThredUP offers you deals if you add items to your wishlist, and that was all great. I enjoyed the diversity of items from all different stores, and they seem to have a lot of great pieces to choose from.
Now for the negative! The sizing is WAY off. It is like they just guess a size at random. I got two things that were both way too small, like one was for kids. The other had tags cut off, even though they state that they don’t sell items that don’t have tags. Also, nothing is washed, which i guess is just part of the normal thrifting experience. So that could be said about most any charity shop.
I’m mixed on shopping there, because I wasted money on items that didn’t wind up fitting. I feel like things should have been measured properly. Oh well! I did wind up with a couple things I am excited to wear. They won’t take the other items back, so it feels pretty rotten to be contributing to the waste cycle.
