Moving on From ThredUp

So it turns out you really cannot make much money on ThredUp after all! I stupidly sent in two bags with some really great clothes in them. Sure, some of the clothes were frumpy and absolutely all of them no longer fit. But sometimes I wonder if people ought to just do themselves a favor and keep things instead of donating all the time. The key thing is reduce how much you are throwing out, and donate what you absolutely know you will not use.

I tried to make money on the clothes. It used to be that it was easy to make $20 or $30 a bag. Nowadays, you only make $5 or less for the average bag of clothes. I was going to send in more things, but I think I’m better off selling things on Poshmark, or keeping them. That is my two cents anyway, and I asked Reddit too.

On Reddit, a few people swore that they had made hundreds of bucks on a few bags, but I’m like….is that really so? LOL! I put on my tin foil hat like any conspiracy theorist would and decided that those people probably work for the company, and were planting seeds of hope. The rest of the people said don’t try, and to only use ThredUp to donate.

The best thing ThredUp is good for is to straight out donate. They provide the bags for a small fee, and will send uber to your porch to pick them up. That’s pretty cool, all in all!
